René was born in La Paz but was raised and educated in Santa Cruz and other cities. He has degrees in philosophy and economics from Boston University. Postgraduate degrees in strategic planning and project formulation from the Private University of Bolivia and the German GTZ and also a diploma in pastoral theology from the Extension Seminary of the Americas.
Throughout his working life of more than 30 years, he has worked in the private sector, the public sector and in non-profit organizations. He is currently an adviser in planning for Human Development of the Municipal Government of our city, as well as a teacher in training institutions in the area of social sciences and personal development.
His ministerial work is linked to spreading the word of God and supporting Christian works focused on vulnerable populations. He is a member of Gideons International and a volunteer counselor at a Rehabilitation Center for people with addiction problems.
